AUTOMOBILE GIANT EICHER AND AIDE ET ACTION
The Royal Enfield Academy for Skills, a CSR initiative of Eicher Group Foundation, and Aide et Action, an international NGO working to empower youths and children, have come collectively to provoke a decentralized call for driven employability and entrepreneurship education for teenagers aged 18 – 35 years. Over the next three years, the task targets teaching over five 500 underprivileged kids, including 40% ladies in Gurugram and Chennai. The training will be imparted via the centers in Gurugram, Pataudi, and Sohana in the Gurugram district of Haryana and Pappadam, Walajabad, and Sriperumbudur in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The six centers will conduct three months in skills, including automobile repair, electrician, hospitality, fashion design, and ITES.
The Gurugram schooling center was inaugurated these days by Mr. G. Sekar, Director of Eicher Group Foundation, Ravi Pratap Singh, Regional Director of Aide et Action, and Dr. Aishwarya Mahajan, Director of livelihood Education at Aide et Action.

The iLEAD (Initiative for Livelihood Education and Development), a flagship program of Aide et Action, released in 2005, is currently operational in 21 states of India. In Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Philippines, and Cambodia, more than 2,25,000 youths (40 women) have been trained, with 75% placement fulfilled. The program will be released in France very soon.
The Chennai centers, inaugurated last week, will offer youths training in capabilities including Industrial electricians, Four-wheeler carrier technicians, ITES, and Housekeeping.
